On a P4 system CAS timings have rather small influance on performance, unlike on an AMD system where they improve performance nicely.

The CAS you see in CPU-Z is what you chose in the BIOS, technically you can choose any CAS timings for any memory, the question is if it will work properly...

I'm surprised you manage to run that kingstone in such aggressive timings.

For performance and overclocking you have Corsair, the new Golden Dragon GeiL series and the Mushkin Black, OCZ also have some nice stuff but I don't think you can find them in Israel.

For value anything will do, if you aren't going to Overclock you should just take something cheap.

GeiL Golden Dragon set is wasteful both because you aren't a very serious overclocker and especially since Dual DDR with AMD platform yields no performance boost, one module of Twinmos 512 mb would be quite enough and quite cheaper aswell.

If you don't play games at all or you play really rarely then an onboard MX440 is quite enough however if you do want more reasonable performance you could go for FX5200 or Radeon 9000P.

The Twinmos PC3200 obviously won't do 470 mhz, but if you are running high buses you have more than enough divider options to lower the memory speed to fit bette the FSB so that's not a problem.

You should consider the future aswell when it comes to the graphical accelerator, you will want to play future flight simulator games won't you, it's good to have a card that could handle future games.

That system seems perfectly fine but you might want to take a Radeon 9500 pro instead if possible, it's stronger than the 9600.

I didn't say the 9200 is a bad card all I said is with this budget you can include a 9500 pro which is much stronger and offers a much better long range solution and there's no reason to take the 9200.

With all due respect to that system but it's a stupid use of 6000 nis, Radeon 9200 is a weak card and that really isn't a worthy system for that budget, either you make something that actually fits the budget and offers proper use of the money or don't suggest at all. Price is too high and with only one module of 256 mb you lose the whole advantage that Dual DDR offers, with that sort of budget you can do better.

A lot of memory bandwidth can't hurt, if possible take any PC3200 512x2 combined with the Albatron PX865PE board (If you need Raid/Firewire take the GIGABYTE which costs 200 nis more).

If you can afford taking any Quadro or FireGL card that would be preferable to any other option (incase you work with programs like 3D Studio Max), however they are very expensive, if not a Radeon 9500 pro is preferable to the FX5600.

The Viewsonic is better than the Mag however it's pretty expensive, it will be preferable to settle for a good 17 inch and save some money, IIyama Vision Master 413 pro is a superb monitor but if you need something cheaper you can take the CTX PR711F.

The difference between the 865PE and 875P is minor and irrelevant and not worth the extra investment

Edit: I just remembered a while ago there was a news in the site about a possibility to convert cards of the GF4 Ti series into Quadro cards via some sort of driver modification and gain a major performance improvement in applications like 3D Studio Max.

Paying 1600 nis for the ASUS remains moronic, and if you buy this system with intent to overclock then the ASUS is clearly not the correct choice.

Waiting for the new EpoX 875P/865PE boards will be clearly a better choice.

Take Albatron or GIGABYTE 865PE based boards for less than half the price, The only difference between 875P and 865PE is a faster connection between the gigabit ethernet controller on the 875P boards to the 875P chipset, an insignificant feature not worth so much money...

Exactly, that board is a complete waste of money, it costs 1,600 nis only because it has the brand name "Asus" there are cheaper Albatron and Gigabyte boards available that will do the exact same work.

Also unless you intend to overclock you don't need Mushkin PC3500 and PC3200 will do, in both cases it's preferable to get two modules for use of Dual DDR.

865PE and 875P are almost identical except a better link betweem the onboard gigabit network card to the chipset via some new Intel technology.

I would look for the cheapest 865PE/875 board with the features you need and buy that.

If you don't need l the RAID, S-ATA and firewire you can take a cheaper 865PE board by Albatron or Gigabyte, 865PE supports 800mhz bus and Dual DDR 400 just like the 875P.
