אני מחפש בסיס נתונים בJAVA שיכול להיות מוטמע בתוך תוכנית ושלא ידרוש התקנות נוספות על המחשב שעליו רצה התוכנה.

    ה-embeded db הכי פופולארי כיום הוא sqlite, הוא כתוב ב-c אבל יש binding כמעט לכל שפה בעולם. כמובן שאם תבחר להשתמש בו תאבד חלק מהפורטביליות של שימוש ב-java.

    אם אתה רוצה פתרון שמבוסס כולו על java אז hsqldb יחסית פופולארי, יש עוד כמה אפשרויות כמו h2database ו-apache derby.
