Nvidia 28nm Geforce aims for Q4 2011

Nvidia is getting close to tape out its 28nm graphics core. The company is aiming to have a new chip in 28nm ready for autumn launch. The target time frame is Q4 2011 for the desktop chip and a bit later for the mobile one.

The chips are made by Nvidia's long term partner, TSMC, so there are no surprises there. TSMC is already taping out some 28nm network chips but graphics chips are far more complex and have billions of transistors these days. It might take them a bit more to get ready for billion(s) transistors graphics cards.

AMD (ATI) graphics is also making its 28nm chips at TSMC and unfortunately for them, Nvidia always gets more love. The specification wars are no on, as both companies have thermal limitations to heed, and as you all know, it is very important to end up at least slightly faster.

The real fight is scheduled for Q4 2011, asuming that both companies can execute flawlessly.

מתחילים לצוץ כרטיסי GTX 560 לאויר

MSI Twin Frozr II OC GTX 560 Ti listed in Europ

Listed at €280,33

One of the forum users over at Xtremesystems stumbled upon an early listing of the upcoming MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II OC card that will feature MSI's custom cooler and a factory overclock.

The card is currently listed at €280,33 but bear in mind that we are still talking about early listings and that the card might be cheaper in some retail/e-tail shops. It appearently works at 880MHz for the GF114 GPU. The GTX 560 Ti stock clock should be 823MHz. It comes with 1GB of GDDR5 memory clocked at 4200MHz and paired up with a 256-bit memory interface. The maximal TDP is rated at 180 Watt.

We are yet to see the reference card but it appears that the card is a great overclocker and that most, if not all, partners will come up with custom cooled, factory overclocked GTX 560 Ti cards.

We already said that the upcoming GTX 560 Ti will be a great overclocker and that we might see an impressive factory overclock with these cards. It looks like our sources were right on the money with this info as the leaked Gigabyte GTX 560 Ti OC and GTX 560 Ti SO clocks are set at 900MHz and 1000MHz for the GPU.

גם בסראונד זה בקושי בקושי יתבטא, 1GB היום זה כמות סולידית, 1.5GB זה כבר באמת מכובד.

לגביי העוד הזה, על העוד הזה דיברנו כבר לפני 3 חודשים... הגיע הזמן שזה יקרה כבר, שוק הביניים צמא למחירים נורמאליים

שוק הביניים לא צריך להמתין ל rebrands. זה תמיד עדיף על "כלום" אבל זה לא משהו שצריך להמתין לו, זה לא שאי אפשר להשיג 5770 אם רוצים.

ממה שאני הבנתי אם כרטיס מתומחר נכון ועדיין רלוונטי לחתך שוק קבוע... אפשר לעשות לו ריבראנד גם פעמיים.

תתפלא, קשה למצוא כרטיסי מסך לא רלוונטיים בכלל (להוציא GTX465 למשל), כל דבר שדוחפים לפרמידה הזאת משפיע בצורה כזאת או אחרת על מחירים וביצועים פר כסף. שוק הביניים הוזנח לחלוטין ויובש הן ע''י NVIDIA והן ע''AMD בשנה האחרונה, פשוט יובש.

לא יודע למה בדיוק אתה מתכוון שוק הביניים . אבל GTS450 כביניים נמוך נותן תמורה מצויינת למחיר ומעליו (אם לא מחשיבים את ה GTX460 הותיק יחסית..) יש את ה6850.. וכו'..

עוד קצת למטה, משהו שימלא את משבצת הביצועים של 8800GT בגרסא חדשנית ירוקה ובעיקר זולה
