I want to upgrade it to play with new games

I have:

AMD XP2800

ABIT NF7-S V2.0

samsung 512MB memory

ATI Radeon 9600 256M

which component should I upgrade?  I'm looking for a component that will not be expensive but will upgrade my system in a major way

לדעתי עדיין לא שווה לך לשדרג...כי המחשב שלך חזק...אתה עושה עליו OC??..כי אם לא זה בזיבוז..!!..

BUY ONE STICK OF 512MB AND 6600GT.

IT WILL COST U AROUND 1500-1600

OR U CAN BUY IT IN KSP IT WILL COST U 1300 ONLY.

if I want to buy a new video card (like the 6600GT), do I have to buy another memory?

Is it really important?

If I only buy the video card, will the improvement be too small?

כמובן שבשביל משחקים עדיף כרטיס מסך טוב...

אבל יש הבדל ענק בין 512 ל1024...!!...ובמחירים של DDR כיום....שווה להשקיע עוד איזה 300 שח בעוד סטיק...

אתה לא חייב לקנות עוד זכרון ,אבל זה שווה-250 שקל.

גם עם 512 יעבוד לך סבבה.

OK, I'm beginning to understand a little bit better now.

but I have to "naj" you with more questions:

if you wanted to recommend me just ONE thing to upgrade, what your decision will be? A memory stick or a new video card?

will a memory stick ALONE improve my system in a big way?

will a video card ALONE improve it more?

which of the two will make the biggest change?

OR, if you think, buying only one component is a waste of "potential" and I really must buy both?

If you wish to upgrade only one component it will be probably video card ! you can manage with half gig for now, the thing that makes your comp work not so good with games is the video card with no doubt ! its pretty weak ...

As said before if you still wondering which one to get so ... 6600GT !

could you be more specific of what firm, and if it's important which firm?

You mean *manufacturer, and all of them are quiet same... the main difference is the cooling...

The recommanded are : Leadtek, Gainward, Asus, Gigabyte, PNY.
