[ltr]I vdimm modded the board (vdimm is the memory voltage, FYI) I used a 1K ohm pot that I got from a friend at the base. well, I thought it was a pot, turns out it was a trimmer. even better! (a trimmer is a pot that has a much better "resolution", a pot has 1 turn from 0 ohm to full where as a trimmer got much more. this one is around 20-25 turns I didn't measured it). the board original max vdimm is 2.9v, now with the vdimm mod I can get up to 3.35v (in theory, I hit 3.4v by mistake when I turned it the wrong direction). now I'm running 445Mhz 2-3-2-5 DC @ 3.3v. memtest 86 show 10 errors at test #5, which is basically nothing. more voltage doesn't help neither does leaner timings, meaning it's due to voltage fluxuations. guess I'm gonna have to find the vdimm mosfet and put some nice little heat sink on it.

some notes: it's not a liner system at the beginning I had to turn 3 turns (about 150 ohm) for 0.02v more at the lower end every 1/10 of a turn bumps the voltage up by 0.02v [/ltr]

as far as the CPU and mem goes the CPU is quite cool 48^oC full load (ambiant temp ~20^oC) and the mem can take it. it's Golden Dragon, the factory specs are up to 3.1v.[/ltr]

Its a mode that allows you to give extra Vdimms for the memories, lets say if the mobo gives about 2.8Vdimms and its not enough so you can Vmode it and than you get 3.2Vdimms for example...

My mobo gives just about 2.8Max Vdimms :-\ ...

למעשה הוא נותן עד 3.0V, אבל בביוס זה רשום כ 2.9V.

[ltr]I'm sorry to say but those Geil memory dimms suck big time! even though fairly stable in memtest at 445Mhz 2-3-2-5 3.3v, they are only real life stable at 426Mhz (based on HL2:DM). even at 440Mhz 2.5-5-5-13 they are not stable. it might be due to being in a dual channel configuration . I'm gonna try to put them in a single channel config and see if it helps and if it does I'll be really pissed, since it a dual channel kit.

when you buy high end memory you would expect it to run beyond it's stock speed, this one can't even run stock when overvolted. stock is 433Mhz (DDR) 2-3-3-6 (2.6v-3.1v).[/ltr]
