Prime 95 ו Hyperthreading - איך מפעילים יחד?

As you will use Prime95 a lot for stress testing, this is a short guide on how to install and run Prime95 in dual instances to test the stability with Hyperthreading enabled.

Run the prime95 setup program. Just accept all the default settings. Complete the install.

Run the setup program again. Change the default directory of the install to:

C:\Program Files\prime95#2. (any directory besides the default will do actually)

Also, change the default program group to prime95#2. (or anything besides the default)

Complete the install.

Open both prime95 programs. You should see 2 prime95 icons in the system tray, one red and one yellow.

Select the first prime95 and go to Advanced --> Affinity.

Untick the box labeled Let program run on any CPU.

Set the Specific CPU to run on to 0.

Now open the second prime95 and and repeat steps 6 and 7.

Set the Specific CPU to run on to 1.

Now go to Options --> Torture Test.

For the 1st Prime95 window, change the setting to Small FFTs.

Press OK to begin stability testing.

For the 2nd Prime95 window, change the Torture test setting to In-Place Large FFTs.

Press OK to begin stability testing.

Right click your taskbar and open the Task Manager. Your CPU usage should show 100% or very close to it (>95%).

If your system is unstable, it will show something like this:

FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4

Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.
