לחידוד הבעיה של מעבדי 9900K - ישנם שני סוגי מעבדים האחד נקרא גירסה P0 והשני R0.
עפ"י הטבלה בתמונה המצורפת P0 מוכר ועובד מגירסה F5 עבור R0 יש לעדכן ביוס ל- F9 ומעלה.

בד"כ בלוחות הישנים כשהמעבד לא היה נתמך ע"י הביוס המחשב היה נדלק, אבל לא עבר פוסטים של הביוס וגם לא היתה אפשרות להכנס לביוס, לכן לא עלתה הצעה לעדכן ביוס.
