רציתי לדעת איזה שינויים נעשו ב-JAVA בשנים האחרונות. אם אני רוצה ללמוד מספר מסויים או לחילופין אתר לא מעודכן, מה צריכה להיות שנת ההוצאה שלו כדי שיכיל את התכנים החדשים של השפה? אני מדבר פה על שינויים מהותיים ולא ברמה מתקדמת מאוד.

    הגרסה הכי חשובה היא כנראה גרסה 5.0 (שנקראה גם 1.5) שיצאה ב-2004. בגרסה הזו נוספו הרבה פיצ'רים חשובים - Generics, Annotations, For-each ועוד. גרסאות 6 ו-7 לא הכניסו שינויים יותר מדי מרחיקי לכת שישנו את איך שצריך ללמוד.
