    Gecko הוא המנוע שעומד בבסיס של המוצרים של Mozilla ואחראי בין היתר על הדרך בה הדפדפן מציג את האתרים (בגדול).

    אני מניח שבשאלה התכוונת להרחבה או תוספת לדפדפן ולא לפלאג-אין (הרחבה מרחיבה את הפונקציונאליות של הדפדפן, פלאג-אין הוא רכיב שמאפשר לדפדפן להציג תוכן מסוים - דוגמה נפוצה לכך היא Flash).
