ניסיתי לבטל את הפיירוול של הרואטר (ECI 270) ועדיין לא עבד אז מה יכול להיות הבעיה???

I can't connect with Battlefield 2142. Why is this?

Answer

Online gaming is a fairly involved process. Several factors can contribute or take away from, a fun online experience. When troubleshooting online performance you have to keep in mind that you are not only dealing with your computer, but also the computer you are connecting to. Other factors like downloading or transferring large files over a network will contribute to internet lag or loss of connection. Every computer your signal passes through can also affect the speed and overall quality of an online game. Any Master Server disconnects can be attributed to either a connection issue, or a piece of software that communicates over the internet that will interfere with the transmission of information. If you are having an internet connection issue with Battlefield 2142 you will need to ensure that you have completed the following steps:

Please download all the appropriate updates and patches for the game.

Make sure that your computer's drivers are up to date, and any background tasks are closed.

Test to make sure that your internet connection is not being blocked by a firewall.

Make sure that you eliminate any conflicts with Anti-Virus software that is on your computer.

If you experience lag, clean up and delete any unnecessary files.

Game settings and types of servers will contribute to connection issues and lag.

Any VPN (Virtual Private Network) software will interefere with the communication between the client software and the Master Server. Please ensure that any VPN software is closed or disabled before playing Battlefield 2142.

If your system has any virus scanning or Internet security software running these to, can slow down your signal. These programs check every packet that goes in or out of the system. Make sure that all non-essential programs are turned off before starting the game.

Along with background tasks make sure the system is running in top performance. Make sure all of the drivers are up to date. If the drivers are up to date then it reduces the chance of system hang ups which could create lag.

Another issue is the speed with which your system processes the data and sends it our again. If your system meets the minimum requirements for the game make sure the system also meets the requirements for playing on the Internet. These extra requirements can include:

To check into this packet loss you can run a trace route program to see if there is any major loss on the way. We use a trace program that was originally made for one of our games. This program can be used for any online trace.

Run Uotrace to determine routing factors.

Connection issues typically are caused by one or more ports being blocked by a firewall, router, or even your Internet Service Provider to help maintain security. These ports are the doorways used to send and receive information between your computer and the server. You must configure your router/firewall to have the game's ports open in order to connect to the servers properly.

If any of the information is being blocked or there is a percentage of packet loss there is a hardware or software firewall that is interrupting the signal. Please ensure that the following ports are opened on all firewalls:

ANTI-VIRUS software can cause conflicts with the game; it is recommended that you disable or configure your anti-virus software to minimize conflicts with the game. Anti-virus can cause errors when your games try to open files or establish connections because of the active scan and similar settings. EA Link, EA downloader, PunkBuster, etc are all programs sensitive to active scan and anti-virus filtering.

Setup your anti-virus Exclusion list to not scan your BF2142 folder and BF2142 profile, located by default in the following folders:

C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\

C: \Document and Settings\MyProfile\Battlefield2142

Make sure that your disk drives have been defragmented. Windows has a default disk defragmentor that you can use. It can be found here:

Click on the Start button.

Click on All Programs or Programs.

Next click on Accessories.

Then click on System Tools.

Click on Disk Defragmenter.

This will run the Disk Defragmenter on your hard drive to make sure that all of your files are cleaned up and organized.

Delete your cache file for Battlefield 2142. To do this:

Double click on My Documents.

Double click on the Battlefield 2142 folder.

Double click on the mods folder.

Double click on the bf2142 folder.

Double click on the cache folder.

Click and highlight all the folders in this directory.

Press the Delete key to delete these files and folders.

Try the game again.

See if you are experiencing the same issues on a particular server type. The type of server appears to the left of the multiplayer server-selection portal.

The server type icons can be found here.

The larger the map, the more info that is required to transmit! You may not have a connection that can handle large player maps. You might get better results on smaller maps. Even if you have the bandwidth and hardware to handle the large maps, remember that the particular server you are attempting to join may NOT have the best connection for you. Try another server.

VoIP (Voice Over IP) enabled servers also means more data transmission. Try non-VoIP servers as well.

Ingame details and options can impact packet size and speed. The more details you have turned on, the more information the game has to process. If you have any filters for text, these can also slow down the game. Try lowering options to speed up game play. Here is a small example list of things that could slow down online games.

Translation filters for incoming text.

Error logging

Obscenity filters

High end lighting effects

High graphic details

In-game viewing distance.
