אני לומד כרגע c++ (מהספר של Bjarne Stroustrup) ויש לי שאלה בקשר למחרוזות:

האם כדאי לעבוד עם מחלקת string שב STL או להשתמש במחרוזות בסגנון c, עם char* ופונקצויות מ string.h ?

אני מתכוון מבחינת סגנון שנחשב לנכון וטוב יותר ב c++, ביצועים, נוחות וכו'.
