דירה בת שתי קומות וכרגיל אין קליטה בקומה השניה. בעלי הבית לא רוצים כבל רשת שירוץ במדרגות, אז הפתרון הוא רפיטר שיתחבר לנתב אלחוטית ב- WDS - הרשת בקומה השניה תהיה איטית יותר אבל לא נורא. אבל על רוב הנתבים שנמכרים בארץ לא מצוין דבר בנוגע ל- WDS, או שהם לא תומכים או שלא חשבו שזה מעניין, ולא כל רפיטר שתומך ב- WDS מוכן להתחבר לנתב שתומך באותו תקן.
