    חוץ מזה אין שום צורך לפרמט כדי להתקין מערכת הפעלה. במהלך ההתקנה נתונה האפשרות לפרמט, אבל זה לא חובה, ואם לא עושים את זה אז פשוט שאריות מערכת ההפעלה הישנה (כמו תיקיות program files ו-documents and setting) עוברות לתיקייה c:\windows.old (כדי שיהיה אפשר להוציא משם קבצים במקרה הצורך).
