לכבוד יום ההולדת ה17 של blizzard, שלושה מראשי החברה ערכו מעין סיכום של ההתפתחות בשנים החולפות והציגו דברים מעניינים על הדרך שבה בליזזארד גדלה מחברה קטנה של כ3 אנשים שפיתחו משחקים פשוטים לקונסולת הסופר-נינטנדו למפלצת שמעסיקה אלפי אנשים ומפעילה את משחק הרשת הפופולארי ביותר אי פעם. (WOW)

החלק הכי מעניין (בכל הנוגע למשחקים) הוא מצגת שהם הקרינו שהראתה את שמות כל המשחקים שהחברה אי פעם ביטלה.

Starcraft: Ghost לא מופיע שם.

זה לא סוד שבליזזארד מגייסת כבר תקופה ארוכה מפתחי משחקים לקונסולות הדור הבא, השאלה היא האם קיבלמו עכשיו רמז לבאות?

המשחק הזה מעולם לא פתוח ע"י בליזארד הוא פותח ע"י nihilistic שזאת החברה שפיתחה את Conan הביזיוני ל360/PS3...

ככה שלדעתי טוב שהמשחק הזה בוטל.

Nihilistic Exits Starcraft: Ghost

One developer is out, but the project continues.

June 22, 2004 - We have confirmed today that developer Nihilistic is no longer contributing to Starcraft: Ghost. Until now development on the stealth-action title has been a joint effort between Nihilistic and Blizzard, with Nihilistic contributing most of the game code and assisting in artwork.

While news of Nihilistic's exit comes just a day after Blizzard announced the game is (once again) delayed, a Blizzard representative clarified that the two announcements are not directly related. It appears that Nihilistic is under contract to begin work on a new project, and have completed their contribution to Ghost. The Blizzard representative explained that Blizzard is considering other developers to assist in completing the game, which has now been pushed back beyond 2004.

By all accounts, Starcraft: Ghost's development is proceeding as otherwise planned (and, admittedly, delayed), by Blizzard. However, given the company's reputation for incredibly polished, high-quality products, we have little doubt the extra development time will be worthwhile.

New Blizzard MMO revealed: Starcraft Online

A Chinese partner involved with Blizzards new MMO project has let slip the details: its Starcraft Online.

A report on Tradingmarkets.com has revealed that NetEase - a Chinese online game operator - will be running Starcraft Online for Blizzard.

Blizzard itself has not confirmed the game, but has been advertising for staff to work on a new MMO.

אחרי Nihilistic זה עבר לswingin ape או משהו בסגנון, מעבר להנחיות בליזארד מעולם לא עסקה בפיתוח ישיר של המשחק.
