hi

i got an Hard-Disk problem.

ok , here is the problem

i got 6.4 western digital UDMA HD (a little old , yes)

lately , i noticed that all the time when i am installing a game , i got the pop-up

window thats tells me that there is not enough disk space.(and its give me the options where i

can delete TMP files or from the recycle ).

but in a matter of fact i got a lot of free space.

when i got 4.0 gb avilable space and trying to install a 500mb game , the pc tells me that i dont have

free disk space and all over again.

just for you to know : the HD NEVER made any problems and working till now GREAT , and

in the setup bios all ok and hd setting correctly .

so , i decided that its a virus .

scan the PC for viruses with norton anti-virus 2002 and got 60 viruses.

delete all and pc was clean , still the same problem

so i did this :

FDISK , FORMAT and install win98se again.

now all looked ok until i install a program that shows me the available space on disk ,

and its showing me 2.3 GB FREE ONLY !!!

but if i right click and properties on C:\ i see i got 5.9 GB !!!!

i hope you understand the problem i got and you can help me .

P.S : can it be a virus that attacks the HARDWARE ?

or maybe a LOW LEVEL FORMAT can help here ?

Please if you have any idea , i need HELP here !

first of all do fdisk again and delete all the partitions.

than set it to the maximum disk space available.

restart.

First, I think you should improve your English. Take a private teacher or something, but the easiest and cheapest way to go is write in Hebrew. ESPECIALLY IF YOU DO NOT KNOW ENLGLISH!!!
