ערב טוב,

לאחרונה הצלחתי להביא מארה"ב שני כרטיסים כאלו, ואני פשוט לא מצליח להתקין אף אחד מהם. ניסיתי כבר 3(!) מחשבים שונים, שניים מהם מריצים XP והשלישי 2K.

הבעיה היא ש-windows לא מצליח לזהות את הדרייבר כמתאים לכרטיס, כלומר למעשה לא מוצא דרייבר בכלל גם אם מגדירים את ה- path המדויק בחיפוש. אם מאלצים אותו לפתוח קובץ inf מסוים הדרייבר מותקן, אבל הכרטיס לא מתפקד (כלומר, לא שומעים כלום בכל היציאות). התופעה חוזרת על עצמה גם ב-XP וגם ב-2K, על כל שלושת המחשבים, על שני הכרטיסים, עם כל גרסאות הדרייבר הבאות:

ב-properties של הכרטיס ב-device manager מופיע PCI\VEN_1412&DEV_1724&SUBSYS_5A5A5A5A&REV_01\3&61AAA01&0&48 תחת Device instance ID, כאשר ה-subsys וה-rev מופיעים גם ב-hardware IDs. מצד שני, המספרים האלו לא מופיעים בשום קובץ inf בשלושת הדרייברים, ולכן אני מנחש שקיימת אי-התאמה מסיבה כלשהיא (למרות שה-Vendor וה-device כן מופיעים נכון בקבצי ה-inf).

ניסיתי לחפש דרייברים אחרים (הגרסאות למעלה הורדו מ-VIA Arena חוץ מהגרסה שהגיעה עם הכרטיס), או מישהו שנתקל בתופעה דומה ולא מצאתי שום איזכור לבעיה דומה, או דרייבר ל-revision חדש כלשהוא של הכרטיס. הבעיה חוזרת על עצמה באותה צורה בדיוק גם אחרי פירמוט של המחשב.

אני אנסה לבדוק מה מדווח הכרטיס השני מבחינת subsys ו-rev, אולי זה ישפוך קצת אור על הבעיה המוזרה הזו...

בעייה מוזרה, האם אתה בטוח שהכרטיסים תקינים ב 100%?

אני מניח שמכיוון ששני הכרטיסים משחזרים בדיוק את אותה בעיה (על מחשבים שונים), זה לא משהו ספציפי באחד מהם. פיסית הם נראים תקינים גמרי, כלומר שום חלק לא נתלש או נפגע בדרכם הארוכה אלי.

נסה את הדבר הבא:

6) Windows 2000/XP Driver

a) Automatic Installation

Uncompress the zip folder and Type

D:> SETUP.EXE (where D equals the location of the setup file)

in the run command promopt or double click the setup.exe file. Select "Install".

After reboot the system, the driver will be installed completely.

b) Manual Installation

Under Device Manager, the message "PCI Audio Multimedia Device" will be displayed

if the "Envy24 Family Audio Controller" is detected by the PCI enumerator.

Set the source destination directory to the "\WIN2K" with the

"Envy24 Family Audio Controller" installation file, Envy24HF.INF.

After the selection, the "Envy24 Family Audio Controller" and its subsystems

will be installed successfully.

** Driver Uninstallation **

a) Type

D:> SETUP.EXE (where D equals the location of the setup file)

in the run command prompt or double click the setup.exe file. Select "Remove".

After reboot the system, the driver will be removed completely.

b) OR you can remove the "Envy24 Family Audio Controller" from the device manager.

If you want to totally remove this driver, you should delete the relative installation file

"OEMx.INF" under the "\WINDOWS\INF" directory.

At the same time, you should remove the driver file, Envy24HF.SYS, under the "WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Drivers" directory. Then the driver will not install again after the next boot.

NOTE: Please note, under Win2000/WinXP, the .cat file can't be installed from the setup program (option a).

If you want to check the "Digital Signed file" from Micrsoft, you must install the driver

using option b - through the Device Manager.
