A new screen that was been the topic of a lot of discussion a while back is the screen from the vgPocket handheld game. It's a small screen, somewhere around 2" diagonally, with relatively good quality. It even comes with some decent games, mostly Atari in descendence, including Bump n Jump, Space Invaders, Battleship, Nibbles, Pong, Arkanoid and Breakout clones. Pacman is probably on there too somewhere. The datasheet is linked to below. As you can see it accepts analog RGB, there is also something about composite video. No one has really attempted to use it. Can be picked up for around $30 at RadiosShack, and have also been spotted at GameStop. Overall, this would be a cheap, simple, and easily attainable screen to use if the system you were portablizing allowed analog RGB output.
