power point and microsoft equation /mathtype

i'm writing a presentation and need to integrate lots of equations. currently when inserting an equation the whole slide formation gows whacko - the text box suddently changes it's dimension, former equations change their size and location etc'

is there an option to switch to "anti-stupid" mode or something?

if not, a recommendation for an other presentation software would be good

i've added a before/after picture to emphesize my point
