סימולציה של חיי פיראט/קברניט עצמאי בתקופת הזוהר של ספינות המפרש. גרסה משודרגת של Pirates of the Carribean, שהחל פיתוח כ-Sea Dogs 2 והפך למבוסס על מותג הסרט של דיסני לאחר שהמפתחת נקלעה לקשיים כלכליים. המשחק נקרא בעבר Sea Dogs 2 לאות הזדהות עם מקורותיו, אך שמו שונה ל-Age of Pirates.

אני שיחקתי במשחק הקודם של הסידרה הזאת ואני חייב לציין שזה אחד המשחקים הכי טובים ששחיקתי בחיים שלי ! (ושיחקתי הרבה !) ...

זה עולם שאתה יכול לעשות בו הכול בתור פיראט , לשדוד , להילחם, לבנות ספינות , לחפש אוצרות וכו' וכו' ...

כל כך הרבה דברים לעשות , כל כך הרבה סיפורים ומשימות ,כל כך כיף !!
