renew בהגדרה מחליף את כתובת הip

אבל - זה כמובן תלוי בהגדרת ה DHCP , ישנו TTL על ה lease של ה IP ,

אפשר לקבוע אותו ל 15 דקות ואז אם לא התנתקת ליותר מ 15 דקות הוא יקצה אותו שוב

אפשר לקבוע אותו לנצח או לשתי שניות גם ...

רוב הספקים היום עובדים עם חייגן ,

renew מחליף את ה IP מול הכבלים ברשת הפנימית ( לפי הגדרת ה DHCP )

ניתוק וחיבור מחדש של החייגן מחליף (או מקצה מחדש את אותו אחד) את ה IP שאיתו עובדים ברשת האינטרנט.

ישנם שניי כתובות IP למחוברים בכבלים :
