NVIDIA just released a new BETA driver. This driver has release build 84.12 ! The new driver has some long awaited snazzy PureVideo options. The biggest being H.264 support.

H.264 has become one of the most recent buzz words of the video conferencing world. H.264 is a compression algorithm used to transmit video efficiently between endpoints. This algorithm is seen as the replacement for its predecessor, H.263. What is different about H.264 is that it promises to deliver high quality video, H.264 also enables very high quality encoding, producing better results than even MPEG2 and ultimately HDTV levels. Expect next generation hardware platforms to push the high end envelope after conquering the low bandwidth frontier first.

Adds support for GeForce 7300 GS and GeForce 7300 LE GPUs.

Support for high definition H.264 hardware decode acceleration on GeForce 6 and 7 series GPUs.

Support for high definition MPEG-2 inverse telecine.

TV-Out/HD-out support for NVIDIA SLI.

Added support for VSync on Direct3D games when running NVIDIA SLI.

Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0c and OpenGL® 2.0 support
