איך שאני רואה את זה, הBR יהיו מדיות סרטים... הBR-R או איך שלא קוראים לBR שנצרב, יהיה יקר מדי ולכן, ה HD-DVD יהווה תחלופה למשתמשים ביתיים בכל מה שקשור לנושא צריבות DVD הדור הבא.

* גם לHD-DVD יהיו סרטים, אבל לפי איך שזה נראה כרגע, הרוב המוחץ של אולפנים מהוליווד, הולכים עם ה BR (וזה רק בגלל שהBR יותר מוגן ככה שמשתמש יהיה לו כמה שיותר קשה לפרוץ).
