למעבד יש גבול יכולת

מבחינת מה???

מה המכפלה אומרת מבחינה פיזית?

[ltr]well basically it goes like this, beyond a certain speed for a given voltage the CPU will start generating errors (it's the same for every processor), now giving more voltage will help you get higher speeds (assuming it won't fry), but will generate more heat. now since overclocked processors are much more sensitive to heat, if it runs too hot it will either start generating errors or will lock up. so it also needs to be cooled more.

now lets say you've gone insane, like some of the extreme ocers do (example: the byter, no offence) and got yourself a Phase Change (or PC) cooling system. now your CPU is running at -50 and you're feeding the CPU 2.2v, there is still a limit and it just won't go beyond without generating errors.

I'll give you a real life example

my CPU, being a mobile got an unlocked multiplier, and can run stock on very low voltage (stock is 1.45v I think). now it can do 2.5ghz (2ghz stock) on 1.775v but it takes 1.85v to do 2.55 1.875v to do 2.57ghz and 1.95v (!!!) for 2585mhz, and it's stable, but it gets hot and locks up. lets say I had PC cooling, I doubt it would pass 2.7ghz or even 2.65ghz, it's just not "quality enough"[/ltr]
