    [ltr]I might be wrong but as far as I know there is no use for 4 out of the 8 wires (for computer networking needs) and 1gbit lan still uses the 1,2 3,6 pairs, although usually 1gbit lan uses fiber optics. RJ45 is a standard that is most commonly used for computer networking, but hardly only for that popuse.[/ltr]
