מערכות Windows מספקות ממשק סטנדרטי לתקשורת עם כרטיס הרשת ותיעול הפרוטוקולים.

ממשק שכזה נקרא Winsock. בעבר, אם היינו נתקלים בתקלה במערכות מבוססות Windows 95/98, פשוט היינו מסירים את הפרוטוקולים ומתקינים מחדש את הפרוטוקולים. בד"כ זה היה מסייע רבות בתיקון התקלה.

במערכות מבוססות על NT כולל Windows 2000/XP, לא ניתן להסיר ולהתקין מחדש את הפרוטוקלים (בעיקר TCP/IP) ולכן יש כלי אחד שמאגד בתוכו את כל הכלים (כולל גיבוי Regsitry) שנקרא WinSock XP Fix.

השתמשו בו בתבונה ולא להפעיל אותו על כל תקלה שמופיע במחשב שלכם.

    3. Adjust your preference.
    Chrome (Desktop)
    1. Click the padlock icon in the address bar.
