העליון זה DVI-D והוא מוציא רק אות דיגיטלי.

התחתון זה DVI-I והוא מוציא גם אות דיגיטלי וגם אות אנלוגי. אפשר לחבר אליו מתאם DVI ל-VGA וכך לחבר למסכים ישנים עם כניסת VGA אנלוגית.

מבחינת האות הדיגיטלי, אין הבדל ביניהם. חבר את המסך לאיזה שאתה רוצה.
