I have 2 computers that i want to network.

1) The first connects to the internet via a usb cable modem and has a wireless d-link network card and works on Win2000pro.

2) The second has a wireless card and works on Win Me.

Now for the problem:

The modem gets a dynamic(automatic) IP address.

In "newtork connections I see 2 local area connections(local area connection local area connection 2).

When I go to the modem's local area connection and check "share", I get a windows popup message stating that the IP address will be changed to IP=192.168.0.1 and then it wont allow me to browse the net.

Only if I Uncheck the "share" can I surf again (but yet again, it is an automatic IP).

So my question is:

What are the steps in sharing the internet connection and the modem connection without it clashing? So that they both work.
