What are the differences Between USB, USB2.0 and FireWire IEEE1394?

The difference is defined mostly by the throughput (speed) of the connection.

USB1.1, known generally as USB, was the first popular standard for the Universal Serial Bus. It is intended to take the pain out of adding peripheral devices to a computer. Maximum data throughput: 1.5MB per second.

FireWire is a high-performance connection standard for personal computers and consumer electronics that makes USB look sluggish.

FireWire can move large amounts of data between computers and peripheral devices at transfer rates of 100, 200 and 400 Mbps (12.5, 25 and 50 megabytes per second, respectively). In Simpler terms, it's a lot faster than USB.

USB2.0 is the latest Universal Serial Bus standard (official launch: November 2001). With a maximum throughput of 60MB per second USB2.0 is 40 times faster than USB1.1.

FireWire = 400Mbps=~50MB/S

"USB מוריד לא מעט מביצועי המחשב"? - אולי צורך טיפה יותר חשמל יחסית ל-PS2 (כשמתלבטים לאן לחבר את חיבורי העכבר/מקלדת), אבל הצריכה היא מזערית.
