Wireless Mesh Network

Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is a concept that is pushed by companies like to create an open and free Wi-fi network in cities to attract people to consume network services and hence to get local advertisements. This network is simple to install and operate.

Lets look on it in this work

a. The nodes in the network supports IEEE802.11n standard. Explain how its opearte and how MIMO antennas are used in this network

b. What end users need to do in order to connect itself to the network? How he will get its IP address?

c. The network in the drawing demonstarte a Wireless mesh network. Define the needed funcionality in each node to enable wireless connectivity. Once you have the needed functionality, create a block diagram of the device, show the protocols it runs in each block

d. Explain how the network is physically constructed, how it operating and its expected performance.

e. Assume that part of the nodes are fixed devices and some are mobile. Explain how the connectivity is maintained in order to have optimal path ( max bandwidth) between the nodes and the . Which protocols will you use? Is any modification need to be done to the routing protocols? Explain its operation in a flowchart among all the nodes in the drawing.

f. Device D is connected to the ISP. Design a detailed block diagram of deviec D, show its functionality, and how it works.

g. The Wireless meshed network, has relative low bandwidth and we know that shared network is slow and congested. How it may effect the TCP performance and what mechanism will you add to the devices in the network, for accelarting its throughput?
