    הגשר הדרומי מתחדש כל הזמן עם הלוחות והבקרים החדשים, ככל שהמספר גדול יותר ועם סיומות הוא מתקדם יותר ותומך ביותר דברים.

    לדוגמה כל הלוחות עם בקרי X48 הם עם גשר דרומי ICH9 או ICH9R שלאחרון תמיכה ביותר מערכי RAID.
