מכיוון שבעזרת דריוורים הם קובעים תמיכה בפיענוח וידאו וגורמים ל 8500 לתת ביצועים ואיכות יותר נמוכים מאשר ה 9100.

לפי הטקסט המצוטט ההבדל הינו תוכנתי בלבד והוא בשימוש בפונקציה די נחמדה (אני זוכר אותה מהביקורות) של החלקת סרטי DIVX,

"Deblocking" והדרייברים של ATI מפעילים את הפונקציה הזו ב9100 ולא ב8500, למרות שהחומרה זהה ולכן אם תחליפו את הביוס ל9100 במקום 8500 הפונקציה הזו תפעל.

ז"א תמיכה משופרת בהצגת סירטי DIVX? יש למישהו לינק לגבי איך זה נעשה בדיוק? והאם זה רלוונטי בכל מקרה או רק בשידור החוצה דרך ה TVOUT של הכרטיס...?

הרידאון 8500 נמכרו ברובם ככרטיסים לשוק הגבוהה ובמחירים של למעלה מ 200$.

עכשיו משווקים אותם מחדש ולא מאפשרים לאנשים ששילמו כסף טוב לקבל את מה שמישהו היום מקבל בחצי מהמחיר.

זה כמעט כמו שייצרנית לוחות תוציא ביוס חדש אבל רק תשים אותו בלוחות החדשים ולא תאפשר לאנשים שכבר קנו את הלוח לעדכן אותו.
