i have the system in my spec

i wanted to buy a cooler to hold on my CPU overclocked to 3.2 - 3.5GHz all the time, 24 7.

note that my case has lots of fans that can collide with the cooler. i need a cooler that is NOT higher than 13cm

Recommendation Please.

the budget isnt a concern, i want something that is able to hold the overclock very well wihout being noisy if possiable too

the real limit here is the 13cm high since, thermaltake big typhon, zalman CNPS9700 and Tuniq Tower are all higher than that and wont fit

how the hell did u read madsshrimps chart? in order to come to this conclusion

page 11 says this

intel stock = 62C

andy + NCB @ LOW = 63C

9700 LOW = 51C

andy + NCB @ HIGH = 53.5C

9700 HIGH = 47C

were did u get the idea that andy is worse then intel stock?

and one more thing. on the 11 page they use NCB fans and not stock fan for the andy

the 9700 used it's stock fan due to the fact u "can't" remove it

What can we conclude from the results?

- The Scythe Katana 2 and Kama Cross perform best with their 100mm stock fan at high speed, offering a better noise/performance ratio. When we turn down the fan speed the NCB comes out ahead slightly in both noise and temperature results. Performance wise the Kama Cross is trailing the Katana 2 by ~2-3°C. At low fan speed the Katana 2 has identical results as the Hyper TX from Coolermaster.

- The Scythe ANDY holds its own against the larger heatsinks, its stock fan is quieter than the NCB but also less performing, -3dBA but + 1°C. The ANDY trails the Scythe Ninja with only 1°C when the NCB is set to High speed! At low speed however the difference is much larger at 8°C. The stock fan at low speed offers better performance than the NCB but not by much (1.5°C).

- The GeminII with two low noise fans (the NCB and Papst) at high speed sits in the middle of the ranking, not threatening the large tower coolers (Ninja, Tower 120, NPH BIG)

- The Tuniq Tower 120 at high fan speed (with the NCB) ranks very high, besting the Scythe Ninja by close to 4°C. But at low fan speed its trailing the Ninja by 1.5°C.

the stock fan is more quite but is less performing, aka, has another 1C so still stock intel cooler has lower tempreture than ANDY at LOW speed.

now if we turn ANDY to 2000RPM its surly way beter than intel stock cooler, but it will not be quit any more, and lots of the other coolers are beter than andy including the CNPS9700, since they clearly state that the stock cooler doesnt improve perfomance than the NCP

u don't care about the noise? why didn't u say so

take the andy and pair it up with a DELTA fan or even TT SF2 you'll have gr8 performance

u don't get it with andy, u get the stock fan

u don't use a fan on low so why read only the data from it?

u really don't have many options with the 13CM limit

2)do u think if i removed the 2 fans wich will remove the 13cm limit and got the tuniq tower or some like it would i get beter perfomance than having ANDY with the 2 fans???

3)the 2 fans will be very close to andy's fan (about 0.5cm) will that help or make things worse????

4) how risk it is to keep my CPU(E6600) overclocled to 3.2GHz ?? can stores know that it have been overclocking it and void warranty?
