Thanks to the great people here I've purchased a new computer a few days ago:

Sapphire Radeon X1900XT 256MB

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Western Digital 2 RAM 667MHz

Gigabyte 965P-DS3

kitzer, sus. I have WinXP, with service pack 2, .NET Framework and all newest drivers installed, but I still get ridiculously low results with 3DMark2005 (almost always below the 20FPS mark, and a constant 0 (!) in the CPU test).

I bought it from KSP, and I'm pretty sure they're reliable. I have no idea what the hell is wrong, so help would be very much appreciated... thanks.

I ran an old game, Battle Realms. Not very graphically impressive, but frame rate still drops during action on 1024 res.

Is there any program that can specifically identify hardware? (not the GPU series but the specific model)

Yes. I have the newest Catalyst 6.11, all motherboard drivers installed from disc, service pack 2... everything :\

(I Installed .NET Framework after installing Catalyst, but I dont think it makes much of a difference...)

i formatted once alredy. before that i only ran 3dmark2001 and got 28000 (That's pretty poor, I think)

Is the Super Pi result decent for E6300? I don't think this program is very graphically advanced:)
