In response to rising prices for LCD panels and other upper-stream components, LCD monitor vendors including ViewSonic, Acer and BenQ have decided to raise prices for their LCD monitors this month, according to the companies.

ViewSonic decided to increase prices for its 17-inch and 19-inch LCD monitors by NT$100-300 (US$3-9) while Acer has raised prices for its 17-inch LCD monitors NT$200 (US$6). Acer also increased prices for its 15-inch and 19-inch models NT$100 (US$3).

In addition, BenQ raised prices for all of its LCD monitors NT$100-200 (US$3-6).

The adjusted price for the 17-inch LCD segment now stands at NT$7,500-7,800 (US$231-240) while quotes for the 19-inch segment have also rebounded to over NT$ 9,000 (US$277).

Prices for 17-inch LCD monitors have been rising in the local market since August.

In related news, the ASP (average selling price) for 17-inch LCD monitors panels picked up to US$171 in the second half of August, up from US$160 in the first half of April, according to WitsView Technology.
