לפי איך שהבנתי- כאשר למערכת ההפעלה אין מספיק זיכרון פנימי, ופועלים ברקע יישומים כבדים, אז המערכת משתמשת בכמה ג'יגות מהדיסק הקשיח בתור זיכרון וירטואלי שישלים את החסר. ואז העבודה עם היישומים הכבדים תתאפשר.

אז רציתי לשאול מה לגבי מערכות מחשב המכילות 1GB זיכרון פנימי ומעלה, שאנחנו יודעים שעדיין זה די והותר וכמעט שום דבר לא צריך יותר מזה, האם גם אז מערכת ההפעלה תשתמש בזיכרון ויטואלי ותגזול מקום מהדיסק הקשיח?
