weird problem with radeon 9600pro drivers

hi i've got a gigabyte radeon 9600pro gfx card. now im trying to enchance its perfomance by overclocking it and for that i got a prand new catalyst drivers for my card. but then a weird problem came. it appears that once i installed the drivers my AGP settings got turned off and everytime i try to turn them on it restarts my pc and....well doesnt works. i tried newer version of original drivers from gigabyte website and same thing happened. everytime i install drivers different from the ones that came with the card my AGP shuts down. please help what should i do???
