MEMORY STICK vs. MEMORY STICK PRO

The original Memory stick camera out in 1998 as a new type of flash memory designed to be easy to use and compatible with all of Sony's products from digital cameras to TV's. Unfortunalty, they only produced memory sticks up to 128mb since products at that time usually did not need more than that. Now, with 5MP cameras and more high-end devices, Sony needed to create a higher capacity memory card. Memory Stick Pro was born. This card was designed to go from 256mb and higher. It also incorportated higher transfer speeds and, like I mentioned, much higher capacities. These new Memory sticks were introduced in 2003 to be compatibile with 2003 products and on.
