I partially agree with you at that, but the PC world can be parallelly compared to the street racing world.

Just take NOS as a replacement no liquid nitrogen and modify your question:

But people do it for some reason, psychologically to boost their ego or whatever and personally because it gives that feeling of self-satisfaction, like: "My old crappy PC can run at that speed, even if it's for a short period of time and with many inconveniences".

Regardless, very impressive results, can you reach these speeds with a higher FSB aswell?

No, not really, for one of the 2 reasons:

1. Crappy motherboard, if I could get one that has adjustable VNorthBridge, then maybe.

2. PC2700 (166mhz) ram... it's good enough that it reaches 214mhz imo :

לא מדוייק... ככל שהטמפרטורה נמוכה יותר ככה המעבד נשחק לאט יותר, אבל הוא עדיין נשחק ויחסית מהר באוברקלוקים כאלה... :

אם רק היה לי קירור על רמה במקום הסטוק- כולכם הייתם מקבלים בראש עם איזה 2700-2800 מגה הרץ!
