2 x 256 corsair 3200 CL2

I put the FSB on 200, and the multiplier on 11 (2200mhz), and didn't have to touch the voltages yet.. and the computer is running great...

Then i tried increasing the multiplier by 0.5 to 2300mhz and the windows loading didn't even show up.. so i figured i need to raise the voltage..

i raised it bit by bit (0.25) each time.. and still no good...

what can be the problem? what's stopping me from getting any higher? if you need any more info feel free to ask.

Bug2000:

1. I have an Enermax 350W power supply, and It's supposeabley very good

2. the bios says 35c....so do the programs that are reading from it.

3. I'm on 2200mhz and didn't raise one bit of voltage, i persume the stepping is quite good... I don't really feel like taking the HSF apart to check that though :\

4. my memory's timing is on 2-2-3-3 could that be it? I thought it's not related.. but I guess raising them and trying won't harm..

I'd like to remind you i'm not overclocking the FSB, just raising multipliers...

my multipliers aren't locked.. i'm able to change them.. but it doesn't do me much good.. read the rest of the thread and then waste my time responding.

try 7-4-4-2 till 3

u can also change the 4-4 to 3-3

אני מקווה שכיוונת את ה CPU INTERFACE ל אגרסיבי

כמו כן תנסה להוריד באס ל 166 ותת מכפלה גבוה בכדי לעבור את התדר 2200

יש מעבדי ברטון שלא אוהבים מכפלה גבוה מ 11 (זה המכפלה הגבוהה ביותר של מעבדי הברטון )

תנסה לתת 220 באס עם מכפלה 11 מעניין אם תקבל פוסט

Ok gathered enough responses to test for now..lets see if it works thanks guys.

Ok after a few tries:

Changing the memory timing to 7-3-3-2.5 and turning the multiplier to 11.5:

no post

Increased CPU voltage

no post

Changing the memory timing to 8-4-4-3 and turning the multiplier to 11.5:

post - no windows stability

increased voltage

no stability.

Turning back multiplier to 11 and increasing FSB to 205:

post - no windows stability

I'm getting a little confused.. anyone wanna give me a list of procedures of what to do ? :\

I didn't flash the bios at all.

I ran PCMark2002 and the temperature after it was 38c

by the way, the scores were (incase it matters):

CPU score: 6743

Memory score: 5553

HDD score: 643

1. My system is stable anyhow at 2200mhz... i've been running it like that for an entire day so far and no troubles.

2. fnie i'll run the CPU burn

3. I'm afraid of bios flashing :< some one guide me through and make sure i don't piss my pants

4. can you name each timing (NAME THEM) and give me the value? so that i can reach higher CPU speeds... ?

זה הולך מה CAS ל TRAS (בביוס, זה הפוך, קודם ה TRAS ובסוף ה CAS - ממש לא קריטי).

המחשב עובד כל היום זה לא מספיק, צריך לבחון את היציבות שלו --> ע"י הרצת תוכנה כמו CPU BURN...

ok well right now my memory timing is

CAS latency: 2.5

RAS to CAS delay: 3

RAS Precharge: 3

Cycle time: 8

i tried pushing the CPU further with these settings and it gave me some weird error while trying to load windows... and once something about kernel dll or whatever.. O_o

what am i doing wrong here?
