הלהקה האמריקאית הודיעה היום על פירוקה בהודעה רשמית באתר הלהקה:

הלהקה פעילה מ1980 ובין להיטיה היו: Everybody Hurts , Losing My Religion, Imitation Of Life ועוד.

הלהקה אף הופיעה בארץ ב1995 וזכתה להצלחה רבה.

    אני זוכר תקופה שהדיסק של R.E.M שימש את כל החנויות שמוכרות מערכות סאונד כדי להדגים את ה"איכות" של המערכת/רמקולים.

    הדיסק/ים שלהם פשוט נשמעו קריספי לאוזן וגרמו להכל להישמע טוב.
