    AC3 is the dolby digital stream right from the DVD. AAC isn't apple's lossless, it's actually MPEG 4 audio.

    Using AAC would involve compressing (or at the very least, transcoding) it. Your software may preserve the 5.1 channel from the DD stream and convert them, it may not.

    Best to just keep the AC3, as it is the original sound from the DVD.

    לפני מספר שנים אני זוכר איזה סיוט היה להתעסק עם הAC3 Filter במחשב כדי לגרום לאודיו של הסרט להישמע איכשהו בצורה מאוזנת (ולא שילוב של פיצוצים מחרישי אוזניים וקול ודיבור חרישי שבוקע מהרמקול האמצעי בלבד).
