Ok, I don't know what it's all about.. i don't understand how it works.. enlighten me about the memmory timing settings and how i can improve my computer's performance with it...

I have two 256 PC3200 corsair CL2 memmory sticks...

timing ... well here is goes,

lets take for example DDR 400 PC3200,

in 3-4-4-8 you have a memory bendwidth of X

in 2.5-3-3-6 you have a memory bendwidth of X + 12.5 %

in 2-2-2-5 you have a memory bandwidth of X + 25%

DDR 400 at 2-2-2-5 is as good as DDR 500 at 3-4-4-8

the lower the timing, the better the performance you have from your system

got the point ?

אבל אל תנסה לשנות כי הזיכרון לא יעמוד בזה.

אני לא עומד לשנות אבל בכל זאת למה שהזיכרונות שלי לא יעמדו בזה ?!

אם יש לך זכרונות טובים אז אולי אם תוריד את המהירות שלהם מתחת למהירות שהם צריכים לעבוד אז תוכל להוריד את התזמונים קצת ואולי גם תצטרך להוסיף מתח.

הרי לרובכם פה יש זיכרון 3200 ומעלה. כלומר מהירות של 200 זה לא אובר בשבילו. כ"נל לגבי תיזמוני מפעל.

תנסו ותראו. הרבה לא יכול לקרות.

I'm glad benzzy-boy understood you, but i don't... I need more info.. what each value is in my bios and what is it's functionality.. and how it will effect my system ? and maybe eve a few steps of how to change the timing right... again: my memmory is corsair pc3200 running @ 333mhz.. it won't risk it to make it work harder...

if you dont understand this explanation ... well ... haam haam ...

explaining to you bouy memory and stuff is not hard but you have to know some basics !!

dont get me wrong but you are in a place WITH INTERNET ACCESS !!!

1. get into your bios and take a look at memory values, i bet your mobo set them to auto by the SPD

write down this valus and hurry to the web, there, look for "Bios optimization guide"

2. have a good read of this guide and you will be enlighten by the knoledge of memory timing

3. search in the web for memory timing, i bet youl find your answers.

4. im not arrogant, a bit of pre study is always helpfull

5. you cant harm you ram since it will lockup if you put the wrong values and your system wont boot

if that is the case, look for the cmos reset jumper and reset your bios to its default values.
