תימצתתי לך את זה. בקצרה אני שואל אם אפשר להשתמש בשני DIMMים לערוץ (כך ש-12GB למשל יהיה 2x3x2GB) והם אומרים שזה לא פשוט.

Avi: The manual states that X.M.P. DIMMS and DDR3-1600 are supported for one DIMM per channel. Does this mean that kits like Corsair CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 (DDR3-2000) and HX3X12G1333C9 (XMS) can't be used?

Asus: The electrical stresses on the integrated memory controllers is what Intel is referring to... For reliable operation, they specify one DIMM per channel at higher frequencies... ...The issue with memory is frequency and data refreshing... there may be problems if you use more than one module per controller at high frequency.

Avi: Can you use two sets of 3x2GB kits ?

Asus: That is unknown.. It would depend on what memory chips the modules used,... how the two kits were SPD programmed .... whether the system board and processor memory controllers could handle the extra stress of two modules per channel as opposed to one... and the fact that all silicon is different.. What works with one system may not work with another.

Avi: ... 24GB necessitates 6x4GB, i.e. two modules per channel. So, are you saying that even though the board is reated as 24GB, NOBODY knows WHICH 24GB memory would work, if any, except by trial and error?

Asus: Theory and practice... and Hype.. The processor memory controllers are theoretically capable of seeing 24GB of memory but no memory vendor has come up with such a guaranteed kit for general consumption... nor was Asus, in research and development, able to find such a kit that would work..
