hello and sorry that my hebrew isn't working at the moment

lately i decided i need to replace my nearly useless machine with some new beast

in my new piece i will need the whole computer, with burner, and a Screen (prefferably 24 inch) no need for mouse or keyboard, speakers or other

i will need 8 Gigs ram, this is something im locked on since i will need to provide support and work with multiple systems at a time, also, 2 hard drives, prefferably 750Gigs each +, not 6** sizes because it will be harder to find a replacement, i plan to run a raid array, so please a MOBO that will support it and 2 identical drives.

a decent quad core processor, obviously too for the virtualization

a decent video card not bleeding edge though, for occasional games, i don't need to run anything on extreme res, but it would be nice for games to run okay.

no Toy plastic cases with wierd drawings and symbol on them please, metal neat is best for me, thanks,i would like it to be well cooled, but with a degree of quietness, no cooling that will comprimise its quietness since i will sleep in the same room with it.

my main usage will be virtualization and general usage, video editing sometimes etc usual stuffs and a bit gaming, no need extravangtic Gcard.

24 inch would be really nice, but ill live with 22 inch if it would help you put everything i requested

hmm... its a nice build,though, maybe i should invest in a raid controller and raid 5 with 3x750GB drives? what do you think? is it worth the speed?

raid controller isn't a cheap thing... i use one with my 4 tera hdds but it was an investment... a big one

if your going for a raid 5 a good controller is worth it even that a motherboard could do the job

do i really want a onboard piece to manage 3 hard drives in raid5? the speed increase will prolly be minimal with onboard controller

one does not use raid 5 only for speed, thats why you have raid 0... one uses raid 5 for data redundancy

and on board controller does a decent job, it did so in my tests... i used a ICH10 vs my raid controller, the controller won but the ICH10 did try hard in the fight

raid 5 adds improved performance + redundancy , its basically stripe with redundancy, which gives you space of all hard drives -1 HD, but usally you should use a controller not on MOBO from my exp

btw, can you build them in foxpc? since they're opening a shop in jerusalem soon so.
