לחבר בארה"ב יש DVD פיוניר DV-535. הבעיה היא שלא ניתן לראות איתו תקליטורי PAL שכן כנראה הוא לא יכול להמיר אותם ל-NTSC. ניתן לקנות ממיר שמפיק אות פסאודו NTSC אבל הזול ביותר עולה כ-100 דולר וכבר ניתן לקנות DVD חדש שגם תומך ב-PAL (אבל פחות איכותי מהפיוניר) בפחות מחצי מחיר. האם יש דרך, אולי שדרוג ה-Firmware, או כל דבר אחר שיפתור את הבעיה?

    תיקון קטן. ה-DVD החדש שמוזכר אולי ואולי לא תומך בהמרת PAL ל-NTSC כך שלא ברור שזאת אופציה.
