I'd like to know what prompted this attack. Maybe this child is an innocent victim, maybe not. From what I've learned of the behavior of many settlers, I wouldn't be surprised if the victim and his friends were were regularly harassing, beating, vandalizing and terrorizing their Palestinian neighbors.

However, you can bet that the Israelis themselves are thwarting any effort by the Palestinians to see justice to this. The article talks about how the IDF is rounding up villagers at gunpoint and searching houses completely at random. They're using this tragic incident as a pretext to inflict terror and suffering on innocent Palestinians.

There are no "innocents", only targets...and acceptable/unacceptable levels of collateral damage.

That is the reality...like it or not.

For those of us still trying to operate from a moral perspective, I can't condone the attack (given the facts we know so far), but I can understand it (given the conditions for Palestinians).

Sadly, you are correct. To many people, it's a murderous horror if it's a Palestinian child, a deserved response if it's an Israeli child.

I'd argue that it's a murderous horror regardless of which one it is.

לא חדש וגם לא מפתיע.

זאת המציאות העגומה שבה אנחנו חיים.

למרות כל המאמצים של משרד החוץ והקונסולות השונות בעולם , התמונה עדיין לא נוטה לטובתינו וספק רב אם אי פעם זה ישתנה.
