מהנסיון שלי, ב2000 SP4 וב XP SP0 אין תמיכה בLBA 48bit ללא שינוי ברג'יסטרי, אבל ניתן לקבוע בהתקנה שתשתמש בכל שטח הכונן הנראה (130 ומשהו) בתור המחיצה הראשית וברגע שמעדכנים את הרג'יסטרי אז כל השטח של ההארדיסק אוטומטית נכנס לשימוש..

כמובן שאם רוצים לחלק את ההארדיסק ליותר ממחיצה אחת כאשר המחיצה הראשית גדולה מ130 ג'יגה אז זה לא פתרון..
