Nuclear Weapons

~ Obama wants the US and Israel to greatly reduce their nuclear weapons stockpile [40]

~ Has Obama done anything to try to stop Iran from developing Nuclear Weapons before they wipe Israel off the map? No!

Cluster Bombs Types of weapons used by Israel to counter Hezbollah attacks

~ Obama votes yes on a senate resolution that bans the US from using Cluster Bombs, and even more importantly, cuts off sales of such bombs to Israel [41]

~ Has Obama done anything to try to stop Hezbollah, Hamas, or their suicide bombers from using these Cluster Bombs on a daily basis against Israel? No!

~ Bolton holds a very impressive track record in support of Israel [42]

~ Bolton starts a project, called the Proliferation Security Initiative, which helps prevent hostile nations from developing weapons of mass destruction [43]

~ Obama strongly opposes Boltons nomination to the UN [44]

Obama objects to Israels security fence that has almost ended most of the suicide bombings [45]

During the National Jewish Democratic Council conference, of which the attendees included Clinton, Edwards, and many other politicians, Obama was the one and only to declare that the Israel government must make difficult concessions for the peace process to restart. This assertion goes against the current Road Map which explicitly affirms Israel is NOT obligated to take the first steps and places obligations on both sides to take steps simultaneously on the road to peace [46]

At an anti-war rally, Obama states he is opposed to the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other armchair, weekend warriors in the administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throat. Obama seems to ignore the roles of Colin Powell, George Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, Condi Rice and other movers and shakers in the Administration, but only mentions Perle and Wolfowitz: the two Jews who many anti-Semitics believe led the US into the Iraq War to serve the interest of Israel [47]

Obama has recently recalibrated his words on Israel to get more Jewish donors and voters [48]

בכל מקרה,אני מוצא את העניין מדאיג מאוד מאוד,ונראה לי שבסופו של דבר אנחנו נשאר לבד לטוב ולרע.

הגורמים שבגינם האנשים מצביעים למועמד זה או אחר מאוד שונים בארה"ב מאשר פה ואת זה צריך להבין.

בארה"ב מדיניות החוץ והבטחון הרבה פחות חשובה מאשר בישראל, כאן היא גורם מכריע להצבעה למפלגה זו או אחרת. בארה"ב קובעת עמדת המועמדת בנוגע לכלכלה והשינויים שהוא מתכוון לעשות בה ובמדיניות הפנים של הממשל. דבר זה הופך לחשוב פי כמה בזמנים בהם ארה"ב במיתון קשה, הצמיחה קטנה, האבטלה עולה, משבר המשכנתאות, עליית מחיר הנפט, התמודדות עם גלי הגירה מדרום, עליית האיסלאם הקיצוני ועוד אלף דברים שיותר חשובים למצביע האמריקאי(וכן, גם זה היהודי!) מאשר אם יתקפו את איראן או אם יהיה שלום במזרח התיכון.

אז נכון, רובם המכריע של אזרחי ארה"ב מגלים סימפטיה ואהדה למדינת ישראל, אבל מה שצריך להבין זה שהכל טוב ויפה כל עוד זה לא פוגע באינטרסים של האזרחים.(כמו למשל למה לתת סיוע בטחוני לישראל שאפשר להשקיע את המיליארדים האלה בשיפור החינוך בכלל ארה"ב).

בכל מקרה אנחנו לא יכולים להשפיע מפה על שום דבר כך שזה לא כל כך רלוונטי אבל מה שברור הוא שמקיין עדיף על אובאמה.

אבל אתה תתפלא כמה היהודים הם כוח משפיעה בבחירות בארה''ב ובכלל

בגלל זה חשוב למועמדים ולאובאמה שפונה חזק לקולות המיעוטים שתהיה להם את תמיכת היהודים בארצות הברית

היהודים הם קול בהחלט חזק אבל יש אוכלוסיות שהרבה יותר משפיעות כמו להשיג את קולות הנשים, היספנים, צעירים, נוצרים אדוקים ועוד כמה.

מה גם שכמו שציינתי קודם, איכפת ליהודים האמריקאים היחס כלפי ישראל אבל הרבה יותר איכפת להם איך הממשך יפעל בתחומי הכלכלה של ארה"ב.(כפי שאתה יודע, הכוח הכלכלי של יהודי ארה"ב הוא רב ולכן כל שינוי במשק משליך עליהם מיידית)

אני מכיר לא מעט יהודים אמריקאים שמזדהים עם אובאמה ולא אכפת להם ממש מהמדיניות חוץ שלו, ה"קול היהודי" כמה שהוא משפיע או לא משפיע הוא לא בהכרח לטובת ישראל.

זה בדיוק מה שאני אומר. רוב היהודים בארה"ב לא יפעלו על פי מדיניות המועמד כלפי ישראל, זה לא כזה משנה להם, גם ככה הם משלמים "שכר" גלות בדמות תרומות של מאות מליונים בתרומות כל שנה.
