מה הבעיה בדיוק לא הבנתי...

אז מסתבר שפיירפוקס 3 מתמזג איכשהו עם ההגדרות אינטרנט בלוח בקרה של ווינדווס.

צריך להגדיר את האבטחה ב INTERNET OPTIONS בלוח בקרה.

כן כן, נשמע מוזר, אבל זו הסיבה היחידה שאני מצאתי.

הנה הסבר:

Open windows internet explorers "internet options", under the security tab there is an internet zone. Either change it to a low level, or press the button "custom level". There are radio buttons in a box. Scroll down in this box to downloads. There, in a locked filing cabinet in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying 'beware of the leopard', you need to have the following options

"Automatic prompting for file downloads"

Disable.

The enable option acts thus. In IE stops .exe files from downloading with a banner, asking you if you trust the site and want to download, but in Firefox gives the message "Blocked: Download may contain spyware or a virus"
