sorry i cant type in hebrew now, i just installed windows and i am too lazy to put on hebrew

this is my problem:

i have just bought a new radeon 9500 pro, formatted my hdd, put on a fresh install of windows, installed dx9, and then put on the catalyst drivers. everything was fine when i started up windows, movies were playing, the refresh rate was good, but when i put on something in 3d like a game the computer just froze or restarted! i have tried all windows versions like ME,98 etc. and i get the same problem in every one of them. i really dont know what to do now.. maybe i should change something in my bios, i dont know.. oh, and i didnt touch the bios mod u can put on the 9500-pro so u can o/c it.

my system:

Pentium 4 2.0 ghz

256 ddr 333 ram

sis 645 ultra-c chipset

SB Audigy 2

80 gb seagate hdd

Try 2 things:

1) Increase the AGP voltage

2) Set AGP 4x instead of 8x

the agp voltage? where can i do that

You should be able to do both via the BIOS; What motherboard do you have?

Also, use PowerStrip to override the AGP 8x setting and set it manually to 4x, this could solve the problem.

Check the card and the CPU, are they hot?

ok, i ran powerstrip, i dont see anything i can really change there..

as for the cpu or gpu being hot.. no.. its 40 on the cpu and the fan of the gpu is working fine

i dont think i should lower from agp 8x because my motherboard only supports 4x.

i have the MSI-6547.

oh, one more thing, i went to my friend yesterday who has a pentium 3. i installed the drivers on his system, also didnt work, then i un-installed all the ther programs that were installed from the disk, restarted, still didnt work, afterwards i went into hardware manager, clicked 'update driver' on the display adapter, and i chose the same driver that installed from the cd. it restarted and then it worked!

so now i know for sure there is no problem with the card itself but its something on my comp. i tested the card with games like freelancer and warcraft 3 and it all went smooth. i tried to do the same thing on my comp but no luck. i really dont know what else to do because if the card worked on a pentium 3 system then it should run without problems on my pentium 4 system.

any ideas?

Did you used Powered By ATi drivers, or Built By ATi drivers?

if ur card is built by ATI its means that u bought the orginal ATI card then u need to download the built by ATI drivers but if u have card of hercules,gigabyte,sapphire etc then u will have to download the powered by ATI drivers i recomemnd u to check what kind of card you have and redownload,reinstall the drivers

ולי ניראה שזה קשור למהירות ה AGP ו ה fast write.

עידכון ביוס של הבורד אמור לפתור את הבעיה.

Right click on the PowerStrip Icon > Options > Adapter Information.

Uncheck 'Read Only' at the bottom, set AGP to 4x and check Read Only. Try to run a game.

i've checked their site, and it's the same file, are you sure there is a difference?

אז על עדכון הביוס.. עשיתי עדכון לביוס הכי חדש שיש, יש לי ami bios 3.3 והיה לי 3.1 , ועדיין לא עזר.

לגבי ה-built by ati - הכרטיס שלי הוא מקורי של ati והורדתי את הדרייברים מהאתר של ati.

על ה powerstrip - זה עומד על 4x ואני לא יודע לגבי ה-fastwrite. להוריד אותו, להוסיף עוד משהו?

הוספתי תמונה אולי מישהו יראה שם משהו לא בסדר..

תנסה להוריד ל AGP 2x ולבטל Fast Write (דרך הביוס).
